Tucker at Kruse Auction

Postby plancor 792 » Thu Aug 11, 2005 7:05 am

It appears that Kruse people don't know much about the Tucker they are to have at tha auction. I contacted them and got nothing other than it is a Tucker with a 6 cylinder engine. Wondering if they posted it to draw a crowd and that no Tucker will be auctioned off. They don't know the Serial Number or the condition of the vehicle. Also don't know if there will be a reserve on it.

Kruse Auction

Postby guest » Tue Aug 30, 2005 1:53 pm

This seems have been nothing more than a misguided marketing ploy on the part of Kruse. Several people, Tucker owners and serious buyers, have all contacted Kruse to get NO info on the car.

Like a Duesenberg, the serial # of a Tucker means the world to collectors and potential buyers. Kruse has been unable to provide any of that information yet their ads read, "correct numbers."

The photos on their website are of car #1003 and the one used in their ads are from the National Auto Museum in Reno, NV.

I had intended to go but have decided not do. My bet is there will be NO Tucker.

Ask me in 8 hours.....I am on my way. Jay.....Kruse has always been a marketing company....not an auction company. Anything to draw people is there game..unfortunately this becomes at the expense of the real people like you and I who truly want to see a Tucker be auctioned. Update will be later...Jay.

Tucker was at Kruse

Postby Guest » Mon Sep 05, 2005 10:31 am

The Tucker #1003 was auctioned at Kruse. It was claimed to be George Lucas' car. It was listed to be numer 1089 on the auction list...unfortunately I missed the actual auction on the vehicle as the sale did not progress down the numbers. Was late in the day...and I was outside...sighh. The crowd later stated that it went in excess of $350,000.

The car was burgundy. As it drove away...it appeared that the rear was forcing the tires to bow out....so dont know if it was a true car...replica.. or was in fact the real 1003. The sign stated that it was one of the 48 cars made.....sighhhhhh.

Pictures will be available to anyone that emails me.
